Astrit Selita started his cello studies at the age of 7. In 1985 he graduated violoncello with distinction. From the same year till today Astrit Selita is a professor of violoncello at the Academy of Arts in Tirana, Albania. He specialized solo cello and chamber music in Sweden at famous professors Gerhard Hamann and Wilfred Rademacher.
Astrit Selita performed his first solo concerts at the age of 10 and he participated at many cello competitions, most of the time winning first prizes. After finishing his academic studies, he started his solo career. He is participating at all main music scenes in Europe, performing the whole composed repertoire for cello of XVIII-XX century, with all famous orchestras such: Helsinki Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra Avanti!, Symphonic Orchestra of Albanian Radio Television, Sarajevo Philharmonic Orchestra, Athens State Orchestra, Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra and many others.
Astrit Selita played with many famous names such as finish famous cellist Anssi Kartunen and german pianist Till Engel. He played with Anssi Karttunen in "8th World Cello Festival" in France and he also took part in many renowned European music festivals.
Astrit Selita performed concerts at music scenes in Italy, France, England, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, etc.
All concerts of Astrit Selita are ranked at highest level by both, national and foreign musical critics, especially from world renowned journals Le Monde.
