Biography

Klara Zoto (Bregu) was born in Tirana, and very early she appears passion for art, especially of music. She takes first cello lessons in Tirana. A tour with chamber orchestra of high school “Jordan Misja” in France, push her on ambition to study abroad. In 1996 she won a scholarship at National University of Music in Bucharest, Romania where she studied under prof. Aurel Niculescu, an well-known cellist and conductor.
In 2002 she graduated with a Master’s in Cello.
In 2013 Klara graduates with a PhD in Music in the same University of Music, Bucharest.
She frequented masterclasses of Gerhard Hamman, Marin Cazacu, Radu Aldulescu etc.
She takes part active in concert life of Bucharest and abroad (Switzerland, Italy, Germany ) playing as a member of National Radio Orchestra, Chamber Radio Orchestra, Giurgiu philharmonic orchestra, Sinfonia Bucuresti Orchestra etc.
In 2000 Klara Bregu won a Fellowship from the cultural foundation “Sergiu Celibidache”, where she organized some concerts with conductor Jean Paul Jego.
Her debute was in 2001, playing “Dvorak” Cello Concerto with Symphonic Radio Orchestra of Albania.
Klara took part in many concerts solo or with colleagues. Among the most important, Main Hall Hochschule für Musik Hamburg with quartet “Khromatic” (Germany, 2000), Main hall of Radio Romania (2002), National Theater Bucharest (2005), George Enescu Hall (2007), George Enescu museum (2004), Main Hall of Art University (2010), Royal College of Music London (2013), etc.
Her repertory includes all genres of music, from baroque to contemporary music.
