Artur Trajko cellist, born in Korçë, Albania, began cello at age of seven. For many years he was pupil of the famous abanian cellist Kostika Tanto at the "Tefta Tashko Koço" music school. From 1988 to 1992 he studied at the Academy of Arts in Tirana with Gëzim Laro. Here Trajko achieved the highest distinction the Performance Diploma.
He studied further at the former Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam and at the Conservatory of Utrecht, by Elias Arizcuren. For this training he succeeded in 1998 with honors.
Until recently, Artur Trajko is member of the famous Cello Octet Amsterdam (before Conjunto Iberico). Both solo and with this ensemble he toured Europe, the Middle East, North and South America, Australia and Asia. He collaborated at twelve CDs of the octet.
He also performed frequently at the piano & cello recitals, including several radio and television recordings.
From 1999 to 2005 Artur Trajko was employed by the Radio Symphony Orchestra.
Since March 2005 he is Principal Cellist of Holland Symphonia.
Artur Trajko plays a cello built in 1888, by Gand & Bernardel.
