Mirjana Rusi (Leksani) was born in Tirana, in 1949. By the age of 7 she started to study cello at the Artistic Lyceum "Jordan Misja". Her teacher was Ludmilla Ymeri (Shinderbalova), from the Czech Republic, the wife of the well-known Albanian cellist Ymer Skënderi. After completing the music High School, in 1967, she continues studying cello and Art-Music Critic at the Academy of Arts. In 1972 she worked on the theme "Nacionalja në muzikë", with the well-known professor and composer Çesk Zadeja.
During her career as a cello professor she has worked hard and as a result of her hard work her students had a high artistic and technical level: among them Loreta Memaj at the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet in Tirana, Olsi Leka soloist in National Orchestra of Belgium, Malva Hatibi in Austria, Andi Alimemaj at the Orchestra of Albanian Radio-Television, Erdis Maxhelaku in USA.
For many years Mirjana Rusi has worked and is still working with the programs of classical music at the Public Albanian Television.
